Dogwood Acres Church for sale

The former Dogwood Acres Presbyterian Church on 1024 Park Drive is up for sale. 

Bruce Hughes, president of Hughes Furniture Industries, said he bought the 2.75-acre property a couple of months ago as an investment. 

The church held its last service in January 2024 and has been vacant ever since. 

“There’s been some interest from churches, some of them startups,” Hughes said. “I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do with it. I’ll see what kind of interest I get.” 

And it’s not just churches that could wind up with the site, he said. “It’s zoned for residential and I could sell it for a couple of lots.” Or, he said, it could be used as a small office building. 

Hughes said one church has shown particular interest in a lease with the option to buy.
