Chung grew up in Vancouver, Canada and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with Honors from the University of British Columbia. She graduated as valedictorian from Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon where she served as a student ambassador and chapter president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society.
She went on to complete the Medical Contact Lens Fellowship at Casey Eye Institute of Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, receiving advanced training in complex contact lens fittings and ocular surface disease.
Along with primary eye care and surgical co-management, Chung specializes in medical contact lens care for patients of all ages requiring vision or eye health rehabilitation due to corneal injury, disease and surgery complications.
She is experienced in fitting specialty lenses to manage such conditions as keratoconus, corneal scarring, irregular corneas from refractive surgery, corneal transplants, high astigmatism and severe dry eyes.
Chung’s own journey of early onset near-sightedness has also shaped her interest in slowing its progression in children and brings expertise in proven methods of myopia management including orthokeratology.
In her free time, she enjoys scenic hikes, traveling to eat and reading a good mystery.
