February 12Make a Date - Hike to Walker’s Creek from Walker’s Creek TH in the Uwharrie NF

March 12Spring into Action - Hike from Mundo Vista at Camp Caraway to Slip Rock Mountain

April 16Celebrate Trails – Hike to the top of Mt Shepherd, highest elevation in Randolph County

May 21Explore NC - Hike to Russell Gold Mine, Uwharrie National Forest.

June 3 (Saturday) – National Trail Day – Celebrate at the NC Zoo with a ribbon cutting for the Spring Trail at Purgatory Mountain.

July 16Celebrate NC Parks – Hike the newly opened trails at Piedmont Land Conservancy’s Caraway Creek Preserve with view of Mt Shepherd and Caraway Mountain.

August 13Wellness and Trails - Hike to Cooper Mtn Cemetery from Robbins Branch TH in the Birkhead Wilderness of the Uwharrie NF.

September 10Achieve a Trail Goal - Hike to Cooler’s Knob, highest point in the Birkhead Wilderness and Colonel Balfour Grave Site from Tot Hill Farm TH.

October – Mayor’s Fitness Challenge Events -Walks on Saturdays and Hikes on Sundays

November – Mayor’s Fitness Challenge Events – Walks on Nov 4 and 11 and hike on Nov 5.

December – No hikes planned.

Location: In Asheboro, meet at the Downtown Farmer’s Market at 1:30 pm to car pool to the site of the hike or meet at the site at 2 pm.
