ASHEBORO — As Halloween nears, celebrations are scattered throughout the county. Here are some of the key events.
- 14TH ANNUAL TRICK OR TREAT IN THE PARK, Oct. 29, 4-6 p.m., Downtown Asheboro — This family-friendly event provides an opportunity for children to dress up in their Halloween costumes and collect candy and other treats in a safe environment. INFO: 336-626-1240.
- RANDOLPH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE 3RD ANNUAL TRUNK OR TREAT, Oct. 29, 5-7 p.m. — In the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office at 727 McDowell Road, Asheboro. Citizens are invited to bring the kids for treats.
- SPOOKY HALLOWEEN BASH, Oct. 28, 4:30-5:30 p.m. — The Asheboro Public Library promises thrills, chills and a pumpkin or two, beginning with a spooky storytime at 4:30.
- FUN ON THE FARM FESTIVAL, Oct. 28-30 — Denton Farm Park has a three-day event set up that includes train rides on its Handy Dandy Rail Road, hay rides, petting zoo, inflatables, face painting and trick-or-treating on Oct. 29 from 5-7 p.m. Admission is $8. Train rides are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and free to children preschool age and under.
- HABITAT FOR HUMANITY COSTUME BASH, Oct. 28, 7:30-10 p.m. — Tickets are $50 for this event at Pinewood Country Club. Costume contests, heavy hors d’oeuvres, cash bar. Call 336-629-1429 or look for the event on Facebook.
- THE GENERAL WINE & BREW HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY & MUSIC, Oct. 29 — 6-10 p.m., 124 W. Main St., Seagrove. Live music with Kelsey Hurley. Costumes encouragedy. INFO: 336-872-0034.
- HALLOWEEN HOOTENANNY, Oct. 29, 8-11 p.m. — At Four Saints Brewing Co., 218 S. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, a costume party, DJ, light refreshments. No ticket required.
- SPOOKY BOTTOM HAUNTED TRAIL, Oct. 27-31 — 7-11:30 p.m., 6059 Union Grove Church Rd., Seagrove. Admission is $25; $40 for Fast Pass. INFO: 704-438-7776.
