Hughes, Huffman capture 2025 titles

ASHEBORO — Jessica Hughes, a student at UNC-Pembroke, took home the crown as Miss Randolph County 2025 during the annual event held Sept. 28.

Cedriana Huffman, a student at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, was selected as Miss Randolph County’s Teen.

In June, Hughes and Huffman will compete at the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Competition and the Miss North Carolina’s Teen Scholarship Competition in High Point for a chance to advance to the Miss America Pageant. 

Hughes is the 66th Miss Randolph County in the longstanding event, now sponsored by Asheboro Kiwanis. Huffman is the 10th teen to win her event.

The delegates competed in the categories of Private Interview, Health and Fitness, Talent, Evening Gown, and On-Stage Interview.

Hughes is the daughter of Jimmy and Amy Hughes. Her Community Service Initiative is “Fostering A Better Home.” She said that “one of the foundational aspects of ‘Fostering a Better Home’ is raising awareness and understanding of the foster care system among the public.” Hughes makes it a point to educate others about the benefits of becoming foster parents, advocating for foster children, and staying informed about child welfare regulations. 

She collected a $2,000 scholarship from the Kiwanis along with other monetary gifts and items from sponsors.

Huffman is the daughter of Charles and Brenda Huffman of Aberdeen. Her Community Service Initiative (CSI) is “More to Give.” She says she “feels passionate about giving back to the community and has chosen firefighters as the group to focus on; expanding across the county, state and nation.”

She won a $1,000 scholarship from the Kiwanis and other monetary gifts and items from sponsors. 

Khloe Varner, Avery White, Mary Grace Dixon and Claira Brock served as Randolph County’s Carolina Stars.
