It's a boy!

ASHEBORO — Kamden may be the fourth but he’ll always be the first — the first baby born at Randolph Health in 2025.

The hospital posted the following on Facebook: “Join us in welcoming Randolph Health's 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑! 𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐃𝐄𝐍 arrived on January 1, 2025 at 9:24 am, weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz. Congratulations to the proud parents on the birth of their baby boy!”

Kamden, son of Brittney Brown and Anthony Shamberger, may be the first baby in 2025 but he’s the fourth child of his mother. He has a brother named Jaylin, aged 12, and sisters, Kaidence, 10, and Aubrie, 8. Another brother, Adrian, is the son of Anthony.

Having children may be old hat to Brittney but she considers each one special. 

“As soon as he came along, I started crying,” she said of Kamen’s birth. “He was worth the pain.”

As for the other children’s feelings toward their new brother, she said, “They’re in love, especially the girls. They can’t get enough of him.”
