To the Awesome Asheboro Team
(Volunteers and Committee Members):
On behalf of the Heart of NC Visitors Bureau, I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers! Your incredible dedication and nonstop work made the overnight stop on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, in Asheboro, a huge, undeniable success for the annual Cycle NC Mountains to Coast Tour. We could not have done it without you.
To Our Volunteers: Asheboro’s Welcoming Crew: You were the best welcoming committee! The friendly faces and encouraging cheers you gave nearly a thousand riders after their tough day in the saddle was priceless. Seriously, whether you were:
■ Greeting cyclists and getting everyone checked in.
■ Stocking and working the rest stops along the route to keep riders fed and hydrated at Lake Reese and Coleridge Methodist Church (Alyssa Chapuis, Annette Cagle, Vickie Burgess, Vicki Caudle, Priscilla Williams, and more!).
■ Directing traffic or giving riders local tips in Downtown Asheboro and Downtown Seagrove (Raquel Ascencio, Alyssa Chapuis, Sam Baker, Melody Varner, Annette Cagle).
■ Supporting all the base camp fun and keeping the campsite running smoothly (Brooke Thomas, Melody Varner, Billy Farias, Parker Collins, Adam Deathe, Rose Longuillo, Richard Schoenberger, Denise Schoenberger, Doyle Craven, Dorlene Wilson, Judy Smith, Chris Lambert, Leia Steigmann, Wes Alexander).
You all made Asheboro & Seagrove feel like a total haven. Your energy was infectious, and you turned what could have been just a simple stopping point into a super memorable experience that charged everyone up for the next day’s journey. We simply could not have pulled off an event this huge without you being right there on the ground!
To Our Host Committee Members: The Planning All-Stars:
A massive shoutout to the Asheboro Host Committee — Patrick O’Hara, Joe Taureck, Greg Patton, Adam Deathe, David Fernandez, Alyssa Chapuis, Addie Corder, Melody Varner! Your hard work is the backbone of this whole operation. You spent months planning and setting up the crucial partnerships needed to make this event happen.
You flawlessly managed all the tricky coordination, getting the facilities ready, coordinating with local police and community shuttles, and sorting out all the relationships needed to welcome the Cycle NC community. Your leadership and commitment to excellence meant that the complex task of moving and managing hundreds of people and all their gear went off without a hitch. Thank you so much for your vision and for making Asheboro & Seagrove look so amazing!
Riders from all over the country are going to fondly remember the 2025 Mountains to Coast ride through Randolph County because of the experience you created. It is all thanks to your amazing, selfless service.
We really hope you are as proud of a job well done as we are.
Huge thanks again.
