Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Previous results, new partner

As we await this year’s applications to process, please take a look at a few of the things Neighbors Helping Neighbors and our Bruno’s partners were able to do last Christmas!

■ Thanks to Neighbors Helping Neighbors providing the necessary materials, a local contractor was able to restore safe plumbing and electrical services in the bathroom of a single mom’s home. This essential repair made her living environment safer and more comfortable.

■ Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a gentleman preparing for surgery no longer had to worry about getting into his home — volunteers donated their time and, with materials provided by the group, rebuilt his steps so he could come and go safely and with peace of mind.

■ Thanks to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, an elderly woman can now feel safe and comfortable in her home again — the caring team repaired her floor, making sure she no longer has to worry about falling and can move around with peace of mind.

NHN partners with Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Neighbors Helping Neighbors has also partnered with the Randolph County NC chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a registered 501(C)3 serving children in need … who do not have a bed to sleep in.

Please consider helping this group with needed items by scanning the QR code on this page.

There are many other ways to donate to SHP besides a financial contribution and get involved with your local Chapter. Or you can make an in-kind donation to a Chapter.

Needed:

■ New twin-sized sheet sets, comforters, and bed-in-a-bag.

■ Pillows.

■ Wood and other construction material for Build Days.

■ Tools.

SHP Chapters are also grateful to businesses that provide any of the above items at a discount or reduced rate. In-kind donations offset operating costs and allow the organization to build more beds.

For questions, please contact David Millikan, chapter president, at david.millikan@shpbeds.org or 336-689-4275.
