Dear Randolph County School System students, staff members and parents:
The start of the 2026-2027 school year is just around the comer. Please know I am very excited about the return of our students and our staff members to school campuses throughout the school system.

The high level of energy, as well as the focus on learning and teaching, associated with the students and staff members on school campuses will serve as major factors in relation to the start of another positive school year for our school system.
Despite the critical roles played by the students and staff members in the development of a successful school year, the parents of the school system deserve recognition as well. To be more specific, without the continued support of the parents over the years, our school system’s success would not have been a reality.
Therefore, in an effort to provide parents with important information regarding the start of the 2026-2027 school year, open house events are scheduled for each school in August.
The open house event for the Randolph Early College High School will be held on Aug. 4.
The open house events for the other 29 schools in our school system will be held during the week of Aug. 17-21 according to the following schedule: Middle schools on Aug. 18, high schools on Aug. 19, and elementary schools on Aug. 20. Each school’s open house event will be held on its campus.
I strongly encourage each parent to attend the open house event associated with the school of his/her child. At this event, you can meet staff members at your child’s school and tour the school building.
Furthermore, parents can learn other important information needed for the start of the school year by attending these events. An open house event also provides an opportunity for a student to become familiar with his/her school as well as meet teachers prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
In order to find the time of a school’s open house event, please the visit school system’s website at www.randolph.k12. nc.us. This information can be obtained by calling the main office of your child’s school or the central office’s main telephone number (336-633-5000) as well.
In closing, I want to “welcome everyone back” to the Randolph County School System for the 2026-2027 school year.
The school system’s staff members will give our students our best efforts to help them continually improve over the next 10 months, as well as future school years, in terms of academic performance and overall development as individuals.
Without a doubt, our school system has the best group of students, staff members, parents and members of the surrounding community with which to work. Thus, I challenge everyone to work together as a “team” to take another step towards our goal of providing a positive educational experience with a productive and exciting 2026-2027 school year for the children of the Randolph County School System!
Respectfully,
Stephen Gainey
Superintendent
Randolph County School System
