Honoring Our Veterans has held a cruise-in every September for 11 years at Wayne Thomas Chevrolet, raising money primarily for the Randolph Veterans Council. During those 11 years, the group has raised more than $200,000. This year’s event was held on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The funds given to the Veterans Council are used to assist local veterans and their families who have needs, such as paying bills or medical costs.

Wilkins said, “We appreciate everything (Honoring Our Veterans) have done and others who have assisted veterans.”

He said that veterans with needs can apply for assistance at the Veterans Service office at 158 Worth St., Asheboro.
