Indigenous Peoples Storytime with Storyteller Stephen Bell

Join us for a very special storytime celebrating Native American heritage with special guest, Lumbee storyteller Stephen Bell, an American Indian Education Coordinator from Guilford County Schools. The program includes stories, activities and crafts. Event will be recorded and posted on RCPL YouTube account for those unable to attend in-person. No registration required, fun for the whole family.
Patchwork Pinecone: a Hands-on History Lesson & Craft

Using her artistry to tell the story of her people and presence in North Carolina, delve into the importance of the pinecone for the Lumbees with heritage leader Henrietta Raven Dial-Stanley on Thursday, November 10th at 6:30 pm.
The Lumbee tribe is the largest Native American tribe in the state. Dial-Stanley, an enrolled member, will lead a free textile pinecone craft activity and provide a short history lesson. This family-friendly craft and talk is best for ages 5+.
