33rd Annual Our Daily Bread Celebration to be held Friday

ASHEBORO — Our Daily Bread Kitchen will hold its 33rd annual Celebration and Fund-raising Event on Friday, Feb. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at AVS Catering & Banquet Centre, 2045 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro.

Our Daily Bread has offered free meals to the needy for almost 33 years, providing 40,000 lunches last year to individuals and families.

The nonprofit was founded by the late Rev. Dr. Dora Atlas and her legacy remains steadfast and encouraging. The organization depends on the generosity of the community to serve meals at least five days per week throughout the year at its location at 831 E. Pritchard St., Asheboro.

“We are asking generous people like yourself to support Our Daily Bread Kitchen,” said Gene Woodle, director, in a letter to supporters. “By giving, you will be supporting Our Daily Bread Kitchen’s mission and goal, and blessing all people with nourishment for their bodies and souls. Together we can make a difference!

“We hope that we can count on you to help support Our Daily Bread Kitchen. We ask that you consider a sponsorship donation in the amount of your choice based on the sponsorship levels listed. If this does not fit your budget, monetary donations of any amount or donations of silent auction items would be greatly appreciated.”
