ASHEBORO — It’s time to swing again. The NC Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame is bringing back the 1940s Hangar Dance after being grounded a couple of years.
The popular event, held at the museum at 2222 Pilots View Road, is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, from 6-10 p.m.
Rudy Rich, a member of the museum’s board of directors, said COVID-19 put a halt to the dance for a while but it’s now back, better than ever. Music from the Big Band era of the ’40s and ’50s will be provided by the 208th Army Band.
Prizes will be awarded for the best male and female costumes from the ’40s, the best dance couple and the best military uniform.
There will be heavy hor d’oevres to stave off those dance-induced hunger pangs.
“We’re hoping for a good turnout,” Rich said.
Tickets are $15 per person and will be available at the door. For more details, call 336-302-0411 or 800-626-2672.
