ASHEBORO — The Hampton University Marching Band, located in Hampton, VA, will be delivering an unprecedented performance at the Annual Battle of the Bands Competition hosted by the Russell Murphy Football Camp Organization.
This is the first time a university band will be featured at the event. The Marching Hampton University Pirates will delight and dazzle the audience with their mind-blowing performance featuring their 240-member band.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. in Asheboro High School’s Lee J. Stone Stadium. The band will also be performing later that night at NC A&T State University in Greensboro when the Pirates battle the Aggies in football.
The Battle of the Bands competition will showcase local high school talent. The emcee of the competition will be the incomparable radio announcer Busta Brown.
This year is the first time the Asheboro High School Marching Blue Comets Band will be competing.
Other high school bands on the schedule include RJ Reynolds, TW Williams and more.
Student/youth tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate. Adult tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate.
Advanced tickets can be purchased at Pip Printing, Real Cutz Barbershop, the Asheboro Fire Department and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
