The Friday Rock’n the Park concerts return Friday night (July 25) with Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute band, starring with Jason Morey as Bon Jovi.
The concert will run from about 8 to 10 p.m. following opening performances by Kelsey Hurley and Southbound 49 that begin at 6 p.m.
The locale is Bicentennial Park in downtown Asheboro, which can hold — and as held in some of these summer concerts — thousands of people on their own chairs and blankets for the outdoor events.
Admission is free. There will be food trucks onsite and there are also many local restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance to the park. The Zoo City Social District will be in effect.
Morey formed Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute in 2003 after answering many inquiries of “Are you Jon Bon Jovi?”
Bon Jovi’s career spans 35+ years, so there’s lots of material to choose from. The Tribute has chosen to reproduce exact live arrangements from Bon Jovi’s 2000’s Crush tour, 2002’s Bounce tour, 2005’s Have a Nice Day tour, 2008’s Lost Highway tour and 2010’s The Circle tour to form what Jason refers to as an “Arena-Club Show.”
Slippery When Wet has played more than 2,100 shows throughout the US alone and has traveled to Africa, Mexico, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Honduras , Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Anguilla, Spain and the Dominican Republic. They played the pre-game of Super Bowl 48 in East Rutherford, NJ.
