ASHEBORO – Local author Micki Bare will be at Brightside Gallery on Saturday, Dec. 17, for a book signing for her new, award-winning middle grade novel “Society of the Sentinel.”
The event will take place between 1-3 p.m. with special holiday pricing to purchase a copy.
Carriage House Tea will offer Dandelion Tea for guests.
Bare is a graduate of NC State University and the author of three early-reader chapter books. She wrote a weekly human-interest column for 18 years, and had articles published in Thrive Magazine, Piedmont Parent and Our State.
Her career in education spans more than three decades, with service as a teacher, administrator and marketing director. She currently teaches sixth-grade English language arts and social studies.
Her first middle grade novel, Society of the Sentinelia, was published May 27, 2022, and earned the 2022 AAUW NC Young People’s Literature Award. It is the first of five books in the Zahra of the Uwharries series.
Bare loves to garden, read, cook, travel and hike. She and her husband reside in Asheboro.
