‘Brew With the Blue’ is Oct. 7, then Walk With a Cop

ASHEBORO — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office invites the community to the inaugural “Brew With the Blue” event on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in recognition of National Coffee With a Cop Day.

“Brew With the Blue” is a new community outreach initiative designed to break down barriers between law enforcement and the people they serve.

Hosted in familiar, relaxed community settings, such as local coffee shops, community centers, and other accessible gathering places, “Brew With the Blue” is an opportunity for citizens to meet deputies, ask questions, and share concerns; no agenda, no speeches, just conversation and neighbors getting to know neighbors, discussing what matters most in their neighborhoods.

“We want our community to know that we’re approachable, that we listen, and that we’re here for them,” Sheriff Greg Seabolt said. “Sometimes, what is happening in one community may not be the same as what is going on in another. When residents and deputies can talk openly about what’s working, what’s concerning, and what matters most, we build trust and strengthen the relationships that help keep Randolph County welcoming and safe.”

The “Brew With the Blue” begins at 7 a.m. at the Randolph County Office Building, 725 McDowell Rd., Asheboro (back side of the building on the patio).

Regular coffee is provided by Byrds Brews beverage truck. (Specialty coffee, tea or energy drink is available for purchase.)

No registration is required. All community members are welcome. Each month, “Brew With the Blue” will travel to a different location across Randolph County, making it easy for residents in every community to connect with their local deputies.

Additional “Brew With the Blue” gatherings will be announced throughout the year.

Following “Brew With The Blue” at 9 a.m. will be the monthly Asheboro “Walk With A Cop” at the same location.
