Golden Knights will drop in on this year’s Fly-In

ASHEBORO — The North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame will host its Annual Fly-In on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Asheboro Regional Airport. 

This year’s event will feature a special performance by the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, scheduled to jump at 1 p.m. 

The annual Fly-In has become one of the museum’s most popular events, bringing together aviation enthusiasts, veterans, families, pilots and visitors of all ages for a full day celebrating aviation and its history. 

Throughout the day, visitors will have an opportunity to see a variety of vintage, military, experimental and privately owned aircraft on display. Among the historic aircraft scheduled to appear is a North American T-28 Trojan, the legendary military trainer used by the US Navy and US Air Force. 

Other aircraft are expected to arrive throughout the morning, making the Fly-In an opportunity to see aircraft that are not normally part of the museum’s permanent collection. 

A highlight of this year’s Fly-In will be the appearance of the US Army Golden Knights, one of the world’s premier military parachute demonstration teams. The Golden Knights are scheduled to jump over the Asheboro Airport at 1 p.m., weather and operational conditions permitting. Visitors are encouraged to arrive well before the scheduled jump to allow time for parking and to enjoy the many aircraft and activities taking place throughout the morning. 

The Fly-In will also feature static aircraft displays, military exhibits, food vendors and fun for the entire family, including kids activities. 

Visitors will also be able to explore the NC Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame and learn about the people, aircraft and events that have contributed to North Carolina’s rich aviation heritage. 

Admission to the Fly-In is $10 per person, with children age 10 and under admitted free. 

The event will be held at the North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame, Asheboro Regional Airport, 2222 Pilots View Road, Asheboro.
