ASHEBORO — Local band Bantum Rooster will heat up Bicentennial Park in Asheboro on Sunday night, July 27, with its annual free concert to raise food supplies for a local free-meal provider.
The concert is set to begin at 7 p.m., with free hotdogs given away beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees are asked to bring food donations — canned goods only — to be used to help stocks the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, which provides free meals to the hungry.
Bantum Rooster is a party band that has been performing in the area for more than a decade. Besides sold-out paid concerts, it also does free events like these to help give back to the community.
ASHEBORO — Asheboro Summer Cruise-In Series, organized by Grounded Elegance Car Club (Michael Allred) and Brightside Gallery (Mary Murkin), will host its next event on Saturday, July 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. in the parking lot of new sponsor C4 Church, 1128 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro.
The theme of the evening will be a cruise-in, some cruising, fellowship and food.
At least once during each evening, Michael Allred will lead a group of cars out onto Fayetteville Street to get the group back into the swing of cruising the drag like the old days in Asheboro.
There is no admission to take part. You got wheels, they got room.
RAMSEUR — Combining peaches, sunflowers and even some Highland cows, Millstone Creek Orchards will host the Peaches, Petals & Pasture event on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
Visitors will be able to taste and pick peaches, take home sunflower stems, enjoy a hayride and meet baby Highland cows Dusty and Daphne.

SEAGROVE — Every Saturday each July, Seagrove potters welcome visitors for the annual Stepping into the Craft event.
This Saturday marks the last of this month, meaning potters and studios one more time will offer visitors a chance to see or take part in kiln openings, demonstrations and hands-on experience in clay.

TRINITY — The Songwriter Sunday concert series continues at Zimmerman Vineyards in Trinity on Sunday. Musical guest will be Soul-R-Fusion, which will perform from 3 to 5 p.m.
Admission is free and you can bring your own food or purchase a charcuterie plate. No alcoholic drinks are allowed except those purchased at Zimmerman’s. Visitors can eat on the terrace or bring their own chairs.

ASHEBORO — Has the summer already come and gone? Randleman set up four Market & Music events for its popular Commerce Square downtown area for late spring and summer and the fourth and last one is next Friday night.
The guest musical group will be Gipsy Danger, a 5-member band which takes rock, pop and country music and puts a bluegrass twist on it with some flare.
Food trucks will set up at 5 p.m. for to provide food and drink refreshments for concert-goers. The music begins at 7 p.m.
ASHEBORO — The Zooland Region AACA will hold its annual car show — the 34th annual this year — at Bicentennial Park in downtown Asheboro, the site of last year’s event.
The event is free to attend and will be held rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Vendors of the food and other kinds are expected to be on hand.

LIBERTY — If you’re a Fleetwood Mac fan, there’s a treat for you in Liberty on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Rumours: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show, will be on stage at the Liberty Showcase Theater that night beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $34 to $69 and can be purchased online at thelibertyshowcase.com.
Formed in Los Angeles in 2012, Rumours has traveled all of North America, including a show in Asheboro at Bicentennial Park.
The group recreates the band’s music in all its youthful glory from 1975 to 1987, including accurate equipment and costumes to spot on characterizations and musical performances.
