ASHEBORO – Looking for a family friendly way to spend New Year’s Eve? Hindsight Bluegrass of Coleridge will help ring out 2024 with a concert on Dec. 31 at the Sunset Theatre in downtown Asheboro.
"This is one of our favorite shows all year,” Hindsight bassist Julie Brown said. “It's the one time we get to play for so many of our friends and people we've met through music. And we love that we have fans of all ages."
Stan Brown, banjo picker with Hindsight, shared a little history of their annual music show.
"We started doing the New Year’s Eve show many years ago because friends and family wanted to know where they could hear us play locally,” he said. “We were lucky enough to find out that the Sunset Theatre was available on that night right after they did their renovation.
“With the help of our great sponsors, we've been doing the show ever since, except for 2020 when the restrictions didn't allow us to have it."
In addition to the Browns, the all-acoustic band consists of Al McCanless on fiddle, Scott Hancock on guitar and Mike Aldridge on mandolin. They play a wide variety of bluegrass styles that entertain audiences wherever they perform.
The Sunset Theatre is located at 234 Sunset Ave. in Asheboro. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at Brightside Gallery (170 Worth St., Asheboro) or at Silver Dollar Pawn (6787 Jordan Road, Ramseur).
