LIBERTY — A bit of history is closing on a festival that made its name selling lots of bits of history.
The Liberty Antiques Festival, which began in 1991 and occurs for two days every September and April, has been a staple at 2855 Pike Farm Road in Staley. But seeking some retirement time, owners Vito and Mary Ellen sold their rights to the event after last year’s September event. This year’s April 24 and 25 popular, sprawling draw will be the last one in its current iteration at Pike Farm.
The festival offers 18th- to 20th-century furniture, accessories, pottery, glass, clocks, dolls, toys, military items, advertising memorabilia, decoys, jewelry, quilts, folk art and “in the rough” country Americana. No crafts or reproductions are allowed. It draws vendors from more than 25 states.
The event is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Parking is free. Admission is $10 with children under 12 admitted for free.
