Let the sky buzz begin: Fly-In set for Sept. 20

ASHEBORO — It’s that time of year for the annual NC Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame Fly-In at the Asheboro Regional Airport.

The 29th annual version takes place on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The airport is located at 2222 Pilots View Rd, Asheboro, just west of the city.

Antique airplanes, warbirds, home builds and more are standard for gawking fans to enjoy, inspect and often watch fly through the air.

Food trucks will accompany the historic aircraft onsite. And watch for the skydiving.

Admission of $10 (10 and under get in free) also gives visitors free access to the NC Aviation Museum, the official aviation museum for the state of North Carolina.

Visit www.ncamhof.com to see photos of planes and some of fans from previous Fly-Ins and also photos from other events at the NCHOF.

And for those interested in visiting the Hall of Fame on non-Fly-In days, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Admission is $10 for adults.
