Farmer Civitans monthly breakfast Saturday, April 4
FARMER — Looking for an early Easter breakfast this weekend? The Farmer Civitan Club is preparing one for Saturday, April 4, an all-you-can-eat affair that last from 7 to 10 a.m.
Members will be cooking 40 dozen fresh eggs, more than 200 biscuits, 4 gallons of white gravy, 4 cups of redeye gravy, 3 gallons of grits (a stick of butter in each batch), 2 cases of Thomas Brothers Sausage, 2 1/2 cases of Thomas Brothers center cut ham, and 15 pounds of pancake mix. Also more than 180 cups of coffee (reg and decaf), 5 cases of sodas, more than 50 bottles of water and 6 gallons of orange juice will be on hand. Approximately 1 /2 gallons of Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, too.
The cost is a $10 donation. The place is the Farm Civitans Clubhouse at 3986 Old NC 49, Asheboro. The public is invited.
Millstone’s 5th Annual Eggstravaganza is April 5
RAMSEUR — An outdoor adventure for kids and family awaits at Millstone Creek Orchards on Easter Sunday afternoon.
It’s the 5th Annual Eggstravaganza, and for $3 per child and $1 per adult, visitors can take part in an egg hunt, lawn games, a hay ride and have photos taken with the Easter Bunny.
The fun takes place between 1 and 4 p.m.

Thrifty Thursday movie: ‘Barefoot in the Park’
ASHEBORO — Thrifty Thursday movies are scheduled for the first Thursday at Sunset Theatre in Asheboro.
For $5, patrons can get a ticket, popcorn and drink to see a movie classic at 1 p.m. each month. Patrons 50 and older, however, get in free, thanks to local sponsors.
This month’s movie is “Barefoot in the Park” featuring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda.

Saturday, April 11: Open House at the Ag Center
ASHEBORO — You’ve seen it going up, now you can see what was built when the Randolph County Agricultural Center holds an open house with five hours worth of things to see, visit and do.
Called the Common Ground Festival, it’s open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, and besides availability for self-tours of the grounds, you can also see live animal demonstrations, a yard sale, rental equipment displays and even some hands-on learning.
Giveaways, BBQ sandwiches and apple cider slushies may also be draws enough to get you off that Saturday couch.
The Ag Center is located at 1880 US 64 East in Asheboro.
Popular bluegrass band returns to Sunset stage
ASHEBORO — Friday Night Bluegrass returns on April 17 with a return visit by Just A Lil Grace.
This Gospel-oriented group is this month’s featured band during Friday Night Bluegrass, a feature offered by the City of Asheboro on the third Friday of each month.
The Sunset Theatre is located at 234 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Doors open at 6 and the show starts at 7. Tickets are $10.
Randleman kicks off spring with April 18 Spring Fling
RANDLEMAN — Music, food and vendors will be the draw in Randleman on Saturday, April 18, for the city’s annual Spring Fling at Commerce Square.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Randleman.
