Sip & Shop coming up Saturday

ASHEBORO — Asheboro Downtown Inc. is introducing a new event into the Asheboro Downtown scene called Sip & Shop on Saturday.

 

From noon to 4 p.m., participants can shop at various Downtown Asheboro establishments and take part in a wine-tasting while doing so. Tickets for the event are $23 if purchased in advance and $33 on the day of the event, if still available. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Theatre. A ticket includes ​25 Tasting Tickets (each taste = 1 oz. pour), complementary downtown trolley service, map of participating businesses and a wristband and swag bag. Each location will each be assigned a specific wine(s) and attendees will travel from place to place to shop and sample the wines of their choice. Specialty tea and coffee tastings will also be available at select locations. Participants must be 21 or older with a state-issued photo ID handy. All sales are final. This is a rain or shine event.

 

Spirit Horse Ranch’s annual Wild West Party Saturday

SOPHIA — The 5th Annual Wild West Party hosted by Spirit Horse Ranch is set for Saturday, Feb. 22, at 3983 Millikan Road in Sophia.

 

The event will be catered by Black Power Smokehouse and themed with cowboy entertainment: Best Dressed western guy and gal awards, Cowboy Bingo, a live auction, a DJ, dancing and beer or wine.

 

Ticket are $45 for one or $80 for two. Ger them at K&L Western or at the Ranch. 

 

Friday Night Bluegrass welcomes New Direction

ASHEBORO — On Feb. 21 at 7 p.m., Friday Night Bluegrass at Sunset Theatre in downtown Asheboro will feature the band New Direction Bluegrass. Doors open at 6 p.m.

 

Tickets are $10 at the door or in advance at the Asheboro Cultural and Recreation Services office at 241 Sunset Ave., or online on the Sunset Theatre website.

 

Our Daily Bread Kitchen fundraiser set for Friday

ASHEBORO — Our Daily Bread Kitchen will celebrate its 35th anniversary on Feb. 21 with its annual Celebration & Fundraising Event from 6-8 p.m. at the AVS Catering & Banquet Centre, 2045 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro.
