Toy Drive to benefit Family Crisis Center

ASHEBORO — Carolina Classic Cars will hold its second annual Toy Drive on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. All toys donated will go to Family Crisis Center.

“I will also be personally donating toys,” owner Candace Bongiovanni said, “along with giving each attendee that brings in a new, unwrapped toy a $20 voucher to be used at our automotive shop located next door — Allen Automotive.”

The Toy Drive will also be an occasion for a cruise-in, according to Bongiovanni. Anyone wishing to display a vehicle, whether late-model of early classic, is encouraged to start arriving at about 7:30 a.m.

This year’s Toy Drive will feature a special guest — Santa Claus. The ancient elf will be available from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for photos.

In addition, Bongiovanni said, there will be free drinks and hot dogs for everyone. The event will happen rain or shine.

Last year’s inaugural event brought in more than 400 toys for Family Crisis Center.

Carolina Classic Cars is located at 120 Spring Forest Road, Asheboro, about eight miles west of I-73/74 off US 64 west.
