RSVP Community Theatre, in association with the City of Asheboro, invites you to virtually come to the Metropolitan Museum in New York for a solid dose of art, humor, whimsy and drama in a style both romantic and absurdist, with a serious nod to love, truth and the need to rise above it all!

All this in “YOU MAKE MY FRAME SHAKE! 12 Love Comedies Set at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.”

Playwright Luigi Jannuzzi theatrically portrays masterpiece paintings and sculpture to illustrate these themes. This along with a frisky look at what art might do after dark.

For instance: “Camille Monet on a Garden Bench.” Might that woman in the background be more than a figure to balance the composition? And is Camille holding a letter from her paramour? And is that her paramour standing behind her?

What about the magic of love? Could Hercules, Atlas, Poseidon and Sofia cast a spell over a super-shy couple working up the nerve just to ask for a date with the result of a triple osculation, very passionate in intent?

Get the picture? Reality and imagination collide for your delight. Among the pictures and artwork, real people with real troubles circulate and are affected. Love! Passion! Jealousy! Hate! — improbable but fun.

The versatile cast plays multiple roles. Newcomers for this production are Becca Leveille, Meredith Mitchell and Alex Tolar. RSVP veterans include Brandon Almazan, Manashi C-Lim, John Halsey, Shannon Lowe, Philip Schuyler, Charlie White and Lauren Wood.

The director is long-time RSVP virtuosa Alisa Smith McNeill. Tammy Wilcox is stage manager. Michele Dawes is property mistress. Peggy George Kilburn is publicist for the show. Each of these stalwarts might just appear in cameos throughout.

Performances of “You Make My Frame Shake” will be at the Sunset Theatre in Downtown Asheboro on Feb. 24 & 25 and March 3 & 4 at 7 p.m., with Sunday matinees on Feb. 26 and March 5 at 2 p.m.
