Welcome!

Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder is one of three headliners set to perform at ZOOGRASS this fall.

ZOOGRASS at Sunset on Sept. 18-20

ASHEBORO — Asheboro Parks and Recreation Department and booking agent Tim Moon have collaborated to bring ZOOGRASS to Sunset Theatre in downtown Asheboro this fall.

For three consecutive nights in September, Sunset Theatre will feature some of the best in bluegrass music.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder take the stage.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, the Lonesome River Band follows.

On Friday, Sept. 20, Sister Sadie wraps up the music series.

The three acts all have ties in the area. Skaggs has family. LRB’s fiddler, Mike Hartgrove, is from Albemarle. Sister Sadie’s banjoist, Gena Britt, is originally from Star. It will be a homecoming of sorts for all.

“It’s going to be great! I am so excited,” Moon said.

Advance reserved tickets are already on sale with single night and 3-night options. Visit https://sunsettheatre.thundertix.com for individual night tickets ($50 for the Skaggs event, $25 each for LRB or Sister Sadie) or https://sunsettheatre.thundertix.com/packages for the 3-night pass ($95 each).

Keep in mind this is trending as a popular buy: About half of the tickets are already sold, with most of the seats in the lower center level already reserved.
