PUBLIC NOTICE

Advertisement for Bids on the McCrary Ballpark Storm Sewer Installation, Sidewalk and Parking Lot Grading and Paving

Proposals for the proposed McCrary Ballpark Storm Sewer Installation and North and West Parking Lot Grading and Paving located at McCrary Ballpark, Asheboro, NC will be received by the City of Asheboro in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 146 N. Church St. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022. (A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on site at the McCrary Ballpark, 138 Southway Road, Asheboro, NC at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.)

(If you attended the original       pre-bid meeting on November 14, 2022, it is not necessary to attend this meeting).

Proposals shall be addressed as indicated in the Advertisement for Bids and shall be delivered, enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope, marked “Proposal” and bearing the title of the work, name of the bidder, and the contractor’s NC license number of the bidder.  Bidders shall clearly mark on the outside of the bid envelope which contract(s) they are bidding.  Within the addressed opaque sealed envelope shall be two additional envelopes.  One envelope will be marked “Proposal” and include all required proposal documents as required in this Request for Proposals.  The second envelope will be marked “Bid Security” and will include a bid deposit or Bid Bond as outlined in this Request for Proposals.  The envelopes marked “Bid Security” will be opened first in an effort to determine if a minimum of three bids satisfying the bid security requirements have been received.  If, due to the lack of the required bid security, the three bid minimum is not satisfied, the bid opening will be stopped without disclosing the proposals themselves and the unopened envelopes will be returned to the bidders for use when the project is re-advertised for bids.

Each proposal submitted as part of this formal bidding process must be made on the blank form provided and be addressed to Michael Leonard, PE, City Engineer and delivered to 146 N. Church St., Asheboro, NC  27203 or mailed to P.O. Box 1106, Asheboro, NC  27204-1106.  The name, address and N.C. Contractor’s License Number of the bidder must be plainly written on the outside of the envelope, and the envelope marked “BID FOR CITY OF ASHEBORO McCRARY BALLPARK STORM SEWER INSTALLATION, SIDEWALK AND PARKING LOT GRADING AND PAVING”.

Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed with Unlimited Classification to do contracting work in the State of North Carolina in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes.

Contractors offering a proposal on this project must meet the quality standards listed below:

A. Bidders Shall:
1. Submit bid on provided bid form.
2. Include a 5% bid bond with their proposals.
3. Submit the following items with their proposal as bid qualification to be considered a responsive bid:
• Copy of North Carolina Contractors License (Unlimited Classification).
4. Be acceptable by Owner.

The successful bidder will be required to submit certificates of insurance meeting minimum requirements.

The City of Asheboro reserves the right to reject any and all bids.  Any contract awarded by the City of Asheboro will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance, and the time specified in the bids for the performance of the contract.
