At 1 p.m. on Friday, January 20, the Asheboro City Council will convene for a special meeting in the Council chamber located on the second floor of Asheboro City Hall, 146 North Church Street.
According to a news release from Mayor David Smith, the purpose of this special meeting is to provide the city council with an opportunity to consider and act upon the city staff’s request for authorization to enter into a lease agreement with Asheboro Mall, LLC.
The staff proposal is to use the leased premises at the mall for the operation of the administrative offices for the city’s water billing department, including taking payments from customers and performing administrative tasks within the scope of activities authorized for public enterprises under Article 16, Chapter 160A of the North Carolina General Statutes.
No council action other than acting on the city staff’s request for authorization to enter into a lease agreement with Asheboro Mall, LLC will be on the meeting agenda.
Any council action will be taken in open session. Public attendance is welcomed.
