Employers earn safety awards

ASHEBORO — The annual luncheon for the recognition of the N.C. Department of Labor’s annual safety awards was held on Monday at the AVS Banquet Centre in Asheboro.

Each year, the department recognizes local government agencies and employers who met stringent safety standards during the previous year. For some, it’s the first time for an award. For others, long streaks are continued.

This year’s recipients included employers in Randolph and Chatham County counties.

To be recognized, businesses and organizations must have been free of fatal accidents at the site for which the award is given.

Here is a list of this year’s recipients:

SILVER AWARD

Criteria: Rate of days from work must be at least 50% below the industry average.

First year
