ASHEBORO – Out of concern for the health and wellbeing of the community and hospital patients, and due to the wide-spread prevalence of respiratory viruses such as RSV and flu among young children, Randolph Health has implemented visitation restrictions for children aged 12 and younger.
The restrictions took effect on Dec. 30, 2025. Restrictions do not apply to children 12 and younger who seek medical attention at Randolph Health. Restrictions can also be lifted if special circumstances exist, such as the need to visit a terminal family member. Family members with special circumstances should speak to the patient’s care team.
If you are experiencing respiratory symptoms, vomiting or diarrhea and seeking care at a Randolph Health facility, the hospital asks that you wear a mask.
Randolph Health reminds the community to continue taking measures known to limit the spread of respiratory viruses. Health officials strongly encourage people to stay home when sick, maintain good respiratory etiquette such as hand washing and covering the nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing. Proper hand washing can help prevent the spread of infection. Be sure to use clean water, lather your hands with soap and scrub for at least 20 seconds, then rinse and dry your hands. Use a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol when soap and water is not readily available.
Randolph Health Infection Prevention continues to monitor the spread of respiratory illnesses in our community and will lift the temporary restrictions at the appropriate time.
