Patriot Day event, blood drive scheduled for September 11

ASHEBORO — On September 11 at 1 p.m., the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Services will hold its second annual 9/11 Patriot Day Ceremony, honoring the 24th anniversary of the attacks.

This event is open to the public and will take place on the lawn of the Sheriff’s Office, 727 McDowell Rd. 

(New Century Dr.), Asheboro. The guest speaker is retired Randolph Community College President Dr. Robert S. Shackleford Jr. who was a Military Chaplain from April 1986 to February 2009.

On the same day, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at the Randolph County Emergency Services building, 760 New Century Dr. Asheboro. To make appointments, call 336-318-6340 or visit www.redcrossblood.org and type 27205 in the search bar.
