RCSO reports fatal shooting on Pisgah Road

ASHEBORO — A shooting involving two men living in the same residence has left one man dead and the other charged with first-degree murder.

Joshua Eric Sanders, 36, has been charged with first-degree murder and is in custody at the Randolph County Detention Center with no bond following the fatal shooting of Daniel John Jarrell early this morning.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call shortly after 8 a.m. this morning at the residence on Pisgah Road in Asheboro. They found the victim with gunshot wounds on arrival. Sanders was still on the scene.

Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division Detectives, Sanders was arrested and taken before the magistrate where was was charged in the crime.

Sanders’ first appearance in Randolph County District Court is set for Monday, July 22.
