Social Services wants you

ASHEBORO — The Randolph County Department of Social Services needs help and is offering bonuses to qualified hirees.

The DSS will hold a hiring event on Thursday, April 27, from 2-8 p.m. at 1461 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro. Positions include social work, administrative support, economic services and child welfare positions. 

The event will be set up as a one-stop job fair with on-site applications and interviews, and same-day job offers when possible. Applicants are encouraged to bring a reference list. They will be able to take a tour of the DSS facility, 

Bonuses are paid as follows for six months service:

— $4,000 for those fully qualified in Investigation Assessment Treatment, or IAT.

— $3,000 for those qualified at the Social Worker III level.

— $2,000 for those qualified at the Social Work II level.

Retention bonuses will be paid at year of service: $1,000 at the end of year one, $2,000 at the end of year two, $3,000 at the end of year three.
