Two arrested in shootings

ASHEBORO —  Two people have been arrested — one locally, one in Guilford County — in connection with the shootings at Salem Court on June 24 that left four people injured from gunshot wounds.

 

The Asheboro Police Department re-ports that Davion Louisa Savoy, 18, was arrested on June 29 and charged with: 

- Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious bodily injury (4 counts). 

- Attempted first degree murder (4 counts). 

- Discharging a weapon into occupied property.

 

Savoy was incarcerated at the Randolph County Jail under a $1.75 million bond. 

 

Warrants were drawn for Music Shaborr Roberts, 20, for the same charges plus Discharging a firearm in the city limits. 

 

Roberts was arrested on Friday by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department.

 

Around 11:20 on the night of June 24, police found three gunshot victims on the scene. All three were transported to the hospital by emergency services. A fourth gunshot victim later arrived at the Emergency Department.

 

One of the victims, who was wounded in the head, remains in critical condition. Another victim, this one shot in the abdomen, remains hospitalized, while two were treated and released.

 

Investigators have not yet released a motive in the attack.
