Two found shot to death in Asheboro Home

ASHEBORO — The Asheboro Police Department reported on Monday that two people were found dead in an Asheboro residence following a report of a shooting.

 

At 1:15 p.m., APD patrol officers were dispatched to 337 Hamlin Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two victims, both female, deceased: Fatima Anne Alston, 68, of 337 Hamlin Street and Tiona Rena Sesmas, 33, of 328 Reflection Lane in Asheboro.

 

Officers at the scene requested that Charles W. McCrary Elementary School be placed on lockdown because of its close proximity to the scene; the lockdown was lifted after officers determined there were no additional threats to the community.

 

Preliminary information indicates there is not a suspect at-large. 

 

This case is being investigated by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
