Ann Shaver Scott

ASHEBORO — Ann “MeMaw” Shaver Scott, 80, of Asheboro, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, at Church of Living Water in Staley, with Pastor James Mitchell officiating.  

Born on Jan. 11, 1944, in Rowan County, NC, Ann was the daughter of the late Frank Shaver, Jr. and Hilda Hipp Shaver. 

She retired from CenturyLink after 43 years of service. She was a member of Church of Living Water and the Red Hat Club. She was a graduate of West Rowan High School, class of 1962. 

She was a coach for the Special Olympics, supporter of all Eastern Randolph High School Athletics and enjoyed going to all sports that her grandchildren played or her husband, Charles, refereed. She also enjoyed listening to her son announce sports on WKXR radio. Ann was an active member of the Sprint team in the Relay for Life of Randolph County for many years. 

Most of all she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and best friend and caregiver to Anna.      

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Scott.

She is survived by her son, Scott Faglier (Kim) of Asheboro; daughters, Rhonda Faglier (Jeff Coble) of Staley, Anna Scott of Staley; grandchildren, Brandon Faglier (Davida), Jeremy Faglier (Ashley), Kristin Dawkins (Cory), Reggie Headen, Gabrielle Headen, Cidnee Greene; great-grandchildren, Kayden Faglier, Braelyn Faglier, Caelynn Parsons, Kashton Miller, Ava Steele, Autumn Faglier, Marlee Caviness, C.J. Dawkins; aunts, Elizabeth Shaver Cline, Nava Draughn; special extended family, Josh Hunt, Whitney Monroe; special friends, Sue Long, Laura Luck; and her Hipp family in Salisbury.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Rhonda, Jeff and Anna.
