Annie Harvell King

Annie Harvell King, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and sister, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at Randolph Hospice House. Born on Feb. 3, 1936, in Randolph County, she lived a full and cherished life of 90 years.

Annie was a dedicated and hard-working individual who spent 25 years serving at both General Electric and Black and Decker. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family and her faith. 

A proud 1956 graduate of Randleman High School, Annie was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of Crestview Wesleyan Church in Asheboro. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through times of joy and sorrow alike. 

Annie loved cooking for her family and friends and she enjoyed playing with her cats and working in her garden. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Gregory William Major, Boyce McKay Major, Randall Eugene Major, and stepson, Wayne King; her parents, Burl Clayton and Bessie Jane McNeill Harvell; her sisters, Margie Harvell and Bernice Kay Melton; and her brothers, James Harvell and Floyd Harvell.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her husband of 47 years, Milton Clay King, who resides at their home; her son, David Wayne Major and his wife Felicia of Archdale; her beloved grandchildren, Sheria Dixon and her husband Miles, Christina Major and significant other Kyle Cochran, Monica Major, and Matthew Major and his wife Sarah; and her great-grandchildren, Jocelin, Cash, Brock, Haisley, Drake and Lilly. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Teresa Major of Asheboro; and her brother-in-law, Lewis Perry of Randleman.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, April 20, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at Crestview Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, officiated by Rev. Jerry Johnson. Annie will be laid to rest at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.

Annie Harvell King will be remembered for her warmth, her faith and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of those she touched.

Memorials in honor of Annie may be made to the Crestview Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
