Betty Jones Dorsett

RAMSEUR — Betty Jones Dorsett, 100, of Ramseur passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at her home. 
Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, Ramseur, with Rev. Chris Smith and Rev. Rob Roberts officiating.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, having lived the majority of her life in Ramseur. She was the town clerk for many years before transitioning to secretary at Moore Gardner & Associates where she would eventually retire from. 

Betty was a loving mother and grandmother with a strong will and determination. 

She was a member of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ramseur, having been a faithful member for more than 80 years. 

When not working, Betty was very active in her Book Club and also spent many years in the Garden Club. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cecil Dorsett, Jr.; parents, Wesley Irvin Jones II and Vana Hughes Jones; siblings, Mary J. Ray, Bobbie J. Phelps, Iris J. Kivett, and Wesley Irvin Jones III. 

Survivors are sons, Charles Michael Dorsett and wife Elaine of DeBary, FL, Christopher Wesley Dorsett and wife Gwen of Randleman; sisters, Jackie Cox of Asheboro, Carolyn Albright and husband Ray of Ramseur; grandchildren, Heather Dorsett of Archdale, Katie Dorsett-Dye and husband Trevor of Oak Island, Jennifer Dorsett of Bradenton, FL, Zach Dorsett of Pembroke Pines, FL. 

Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church Craven Room, Ramseur.
