DANIEL CRAIG SKINNER

ASHEBORO — Daniel Craig Skinner, 76, of Asheboro died Feb. 5, 2025, at his home.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Salisbury National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Daniel was born on Jan. 19, 1949, in Altadena, CA. He honorably served in the US Air Force. He later retired from the US Postal Service. After retirement, he later worked in maintenance at Southwestern Randolph Middle School.

Daniel was an avid fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt. He loved golf and trying to answer the trivia before the contestants in "Jeopardy.” Daniel loved horses, especially his two favorites, "Lucky" and "Misty.”

Skinner was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Avels Skinner; son, Michael Caldwell; and father, Benjamin Skinner Jr.

He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Batson (Ransom) of West End, Lynnae Carrico (Roger) of Asheboro; son, Robert "Bobby" Caldwell (April) of Asheboro; mother, LaVerne Nicholson of California; sister, Linda Dvorak; half-sister, Pam Lowers; half-brother, Brian Skinners; grandchildren, Shaena, Ashlee, Ivy, and Ezra.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at Ridge Funeral Home.
