RAMSEUR — Fred W. Morgan, 92, of Ramseur died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at his residence.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at First Christian Church, Ramseur, with Rev. Garry Arnett officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Fred was born in Star, NC, and was a longtime resident of Ramseur. He was employed with Klopman Mills/Burlington Industries in Ramseur with 26 years service as an Industrial Engineer, and then he served as a consultant for other manufacturing companies.
Fred was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former Ramseur Jaycee. He was a member of First Christian Church in Ramseur where he worked with the Awanas program and was a Trustee.
Fred did woodworking and cut out the race cars for the children in Awanas at church and had lots of cut thumbs! He liked to garden and spend time in his workshop, and helping his neighbors and church family.
What Fred loved most was his wife, Dot, the best thing that ever happened to him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Patterson Morgan; parents, James Henry and Carrie Spivey Morgan; sisters, Mae Morgan Allen, Lois Morgan McKenzie, Belle Morgan Permar; brothers, Frank Issac Morgan, Clyde Grayson Morgan, Jimmy Vernon Morgan.
Survivors are his daughters, Elisa Tallant and husband Kenny of Asheboro, Cindy Maness and husband Ralph of Asheboro; granddaughter, Brooke Powell and husband Matt of Nathalie, VA; great-grandchildren, Carrington Powell, John Henry Powell, both of Nathalie, VA; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Chapell Morgan of Newport News, VA; and 27 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m, Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur.
