Gary Wayne Strickland

STAR — Gary Wayne Strickland, 65, passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2021. 

Born in Randolph County on Dec. 25, 1956, he was the son of the late Lacy Strickland and Annie Madeline Coley Strickland.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael Anthony Strickland. 

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jamie McGee Strickland; children, Gary Strickland Jr., Ashley McCoy and Tandy Britt; grandchildren, Holly, Hannah, Lily, Grayson and William; siblings, Johnny, Randy, Sue, Alice, Becky and Jenny; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Gary was loved by many.

The family requests that in the event a donation is made in Gary’s honor, please donate to St. Jude’s Hospital, or to the Spina Bifida clinic at UNC.
