Gaye Johnson Criscoe

Gaye Johnson Criscoe, 74, of Ramseur died Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church, Ramseur, with Rev. Gary Moger officiating.

Burial will be at Rehobeth United Methodist Church, Ramseur.

Gaye was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County. She was an encourager and an uplifter to all who encountered her, especially to children.

Gaye spent most of her life working as a Teacher Assistant in the Asheboro City School System, as well as helping with AWANA programs and Bible Schools at her churches, First Christian Church and Faith Baptist Church, both of Ramseur. Working with children was her passion, as was serving the Lord and living a devout Christian life.

She was loved by her family and friends, who were truly fortunate to have such a sweet soul in their lives.

Gaye was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Denise Criscoe; her parents, Joseph Mark and Bernice Cain Johnson; and her sister, Kaye Johnson Teague.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Richard Criscoe, of the home; daughters, Shannon Fox and husband Jeremy of Ramseur, Renee Higgins and husband Joe of Pooler, GA; son, Matthew Criscoe and wife Beth of Shallotte; sister, Dianne Leonard and husband David of Asheboro; grandchildren, Ryan Higgins, Ethan Fox, Hannah Fox, Saylor Criscoe.

Visitation is 1-1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church, Ramseur.
