Harvey Green Nall, Jr., 80, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Alpine Health & Rehabilitation of Asheboro.
Harvey was born on Feb. 23, 1946 to parents, the late Harvey Green Nall, Sr. and Mittie Hayes Nall.
Harvey was a retired industrial mechanic, working many years for Union Carbide and later Eveready Battery in Asheboro and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. After his time in Vietnam, his strong sense of patriotism led him to serve in the US Army reserve for many years, attaining the rank of Command Sergeant Major.
During his off time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Harvey attended Spoons Chapel Christian Church.
He was a member of Vietnam Vets of America, American Legion Post 45, Disabled American Veterans, 22nd Infantry Society - 4th Infantry Division and Vietnam Triple Deuce.
In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Lou Welch Nall, and brother-in-law, Benny Staley.
Harvey is survived by son, John Thomas "JT" Nall and wife Gabriela of Asheboro; granddaughters, Alexa Nall of Asheboro and Nicole Nall of LA County, CA; brother, Harold Mac Nall and wife Faye of Benson; sisters, Shirley Ann Trotter and husband Lonnie of Asheboro, Peggy Scott and husband David of Robbins, and Margaret Staley of Biscoe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Spoons Chapel Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Jeff Garner and Rev. Jacob Avelino. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
