HAZEL HARVELL

ASHEBORO — Hazel Lee Hunt Harvell, 97, of Asheboro passed away on Nov. 1, 2024, at Randolph Health in Asheboro.

 

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at New Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home.

 

Hazel was born in Randolph County on Sept. 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Lonnie Hunt and Caroline McDowell Hunt. 

 

She was a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God. Hazel made the best chocolate pies, enjoyed baking cakes and was an immaculate housekeeper. She looked forward to watching Jimmy Swaggert and other evangelists. She would spend time watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy” with her daughter.  

 

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Henry Harvell; siblings, Pauline Wilson, Baxter Hunt, Clarence Hunt, Gladys Davis, Melvin Hunt; and brother-in-law, Bobby Gene Spencer.


Hazel is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Harvell of the home; sister, Ola Mae Spencer of Asheboro; and nephews, Rick Spencer (Cris), Gregory Spencer, Harlon Davis (Kara) and Lonnie Lloyd Hunt.
