James W. Kidd

James W. Kidd, born on Aug. 18, 1941, in Randolph County, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the Randolph Hospice House at the age of 83.

James was a hard-working and dedicated man whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James was formerly employed with Founders Furniture until its closing and later retired from Goodyear Rubber in Asheboro, where he served diligently as an inspector for many years. He was known for his keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to his work.
Beyond his professional life, James had a passion for music and was an avid guitarist. He enjoyed watching NASCAR on weekends and found joy and peace in fishing, which friends and family can imagine him continuing to enjoy in heaven.

James was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles and Nora Routh Kidd.

He is survived by his son, Randal Kidd of Franklinville, and his daughter, Patina Kidd, also of Franklinville, and his sister, Pat Kidd Hinshaw of Climax. James was a proud grandfather to Jessi Kidd and her fiancé, Thomas Deese, and he cherished his three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Deanna Cox, and nephew, Don Hinshaw and his wife Christine.

A graveside service will be held at a later date, which will be announced once arrangements are finalized. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Randolph Hospice House for their compassionate care and support during James's final days.

James W. Kidd will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his warm spirit, love of music, and dedication to those he cared for.

Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service is honored to assist the family of Mr. James Kidd during this difficult time.
