Joy Ruth Briles Small

September 14, 1931 — April 12, 2025

RANDLEMAN — Joy Ruth Briles Small, 93, of Randleman passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025.

She was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Randolph County, NC, to Flake Armfield Briles and Edna Pauline Williams Briles.

Ruth loved gardening, both vegetable and flower, and seeing other gardens in bloom. She loved her animals; a dachshund and cat named Fuzzball. 

Ruth worked 40 years at Laughlin Hosiery Mill. She will be missed by those she leaves behind.

Ruth is survived by her daughter-in-law, Helen Small; brother, Harold Briles of Trinity; sisters, Bertie Lemmonds of Pleasant Garden, Mary Lou Kindley of Lexington, and Barbara Briles of Julian. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Small; son, Richard Small; and several brothers and sisters.
