ASHEBORO — Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Anderson Cox, 91, of Asheboro died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Arroyo officiating The burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park.
Born in Asheboro on May 6, 1933, Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late David Jackson Anderson, Jr., and Minnie Lambeth Anderson.
She was a graduate from Asheboro High School, and had worked in sales for Pinehurst Textiles and in marketing for Advantage Promotions. With an exceptional work ethic, she chose to continue working until the age of 85.
Mrs. Cox loved watching sports and found particular interest in baseball, and enjoyed rooting for her beloved Atlanta Braves. She was a people person, and enjoyed talking with everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Cox; and brother, Ronnie Anderson.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynne Cox Garren (Jack) of Asheboro; son, David M. Cox (Laura) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Joanna R. Cox (Brian Walthall), Macy E. Cox; and great-grandchild, Lacy Walthall.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2-3:15 p.m. prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
