ASHEBORO — Lois Maxine Moody Buie, devoted mother and grandmother, peacefully left for her heavenly abode on March 18, 2023.
She was known for her dry sense of humor, kindness, generosity and fierce love of family.
A life-long member of Foster Street Wesleyan Church contributed to her being a devout woman guided by her faith and love of gospel music.
Lois retired from General Electric and Black & Decker after more than 30 years of service. Upon retirement, she enjoyed gardening, mowing her yard and planting flowers.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Esther Lillian Fesmire Moody and Alvis Murd Moody; and her husband of 49 years, James Worth Buie.
She is survived by her children, Cathy Buie Dearing and spouse Max, James Michael Buie and spouse Tanya, as well as five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held graveside at Randolph Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, with Junior Baker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
