Margaret Ellen Loflin

DENTON — Margaret Ellen Loflin, 89, of Denton, NC, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Randolph Hospice House after a 3 month illness. 

Born in Davidson County on March 20, 1937, she was the daughter of Virgil and Ada Hammond Loflin.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Science Hill Friends Meeting with Pastor Michael J. Fulp, Pastor Alvin Battle and Pastor Andy Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service starting. She will lie in state at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton from 10 a.m.-noon on Thursday.

Margaret graduated from Farmer High School. Aside from being the caregiver to her parents, Margaret also retired from Acme-McCrary in Asheboro where she had been a sewer. 

Margaret was a member of Science Hill Friends Meeting where she was involved in Science Hill Quaker Ladies group.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are extended family Page, Lorrie, Jordan, Megan and Zoey Paige Lowe.

Her extended family is most grateful for all the care and love shown to Margaret Ellen by Hospice of Randolph County, Maddie McNeil RN, Amanda and Renee, her CNAs, the staff of Randolph Hospice House, as well as 4 Generations Care, Ramona, Maria, Linda, Sadie, Susan, Kim and Stephanie.
